Hot Little Rocket
Thursday, May 1, 2008 Spring is here, let's go for a walk.

We are finally packing up the guitars and hauling ourselves out of the basement to get some fresh air and see what's going on outside.   March and April were busy with festivals and we ran into some good friends in Toronto (CMW), Austin (SXSW) and on the streets of Calgary (Junofest).   I swear we saw 50 bands in 3 weeks.... whooo boy!

We will be playing a show in Vancouver on May 15th at the Biltmore Cabaret.  We are also shooting a video and may require some extras in the Vancouver area.   Drop us a line if you are interested and will be in the Vancouver area May 16th - 18th.

We get back to the Calgary stage at the Palomino on May 31st and are joined by our best friends from Winnipeg (Papermoon and the Details).   Come on down for some great food and even better music.

This is going to be just like that time you saw the Ramones play with the Clash and Led Zepplin at CBGB's, except this is reality and not some dream,  yes you were Bonham in that dream....but a skinny Bonham... and Joe Strummer had a moustache and swore too much.... and Joey Ramone was your cousin.... and then your mom woke you up for school....

Come down eat some grits, drink a beer and welcome our friends like they were your old high school buddy that moved away to Japan after graduation to teach English and just came back to give you away at your wedding... real special like!

We will also be playing the Sled Island Festival in June.  Wow.... super amazing bands in our town this summer.   Buy your tickets!

SXSW 2008

We are very happy to have been able to have taken part in SXSW 2008.  We had a great extended weekend in true HLR fashion.  We were able to check out a ton of great bands in a short period of time.  Sooo many bands..... Such a blur of beer, bands, tacos and BBQ.  Can't wait until the next festival!   We were lucky enough to be a part of  2 great showcases with our friends from Saskatchewan, (The Blood Lines, Sylvie and Geronimo) Manitoba, (The Perpetrators) Alberta, (Woodpigeon, Lorrie Matheson) and B.C. (Dan Mangan).

We would like to thank Lee (the kindest neighbour you could dream of) for giving 5 Canadians aimlessly wandering the streets of Austin a ride downtown.  That's Texas hospitality!!

We would like to thank Shauna for giving up her home for a week....so much nicer than a hotel room!!!

Thanks to the FU:M gang for making this an amazing weekend!

Hot Little Rocket is back from taking over Toronto's CMW and showing what all the hubbub is about in Alberta.  Yes I said Hubbub! We spent a great evening with our friends Jane Vain and the Dark Matter, the Rocky Fortune and Secret Broadcast and proved that there is certainly a force to be reckoned with west of the forests and lakes of Ontario.

This week we are taking the old jet plane down to Austin and will be playing a few shows with some of our Canadian counterparts. If you are down in Austin come on by.  We are playing on Thursday at midnight and Friday at 5:30. Bring on the BBQ!

We will be returning to the Calgary stage April 5th for Junofest at the Warehouse!
